Join us for our monthly meetup of amputees, where we gather to share stories, support, and learn from each other. Whether you're a recent amputee or have been living with limb loss for years, this is a safe space for you to connect with others who understand what you're going through.
Our meetings feature guest speakers who share their experiences and expertise on topics such as prosthetics, physical therapy, and mental health. We also have plenty of time for open discussion, where you can ask questions, share your own insights, and get to know your fellow members.
Our group is open to all amputees, regardless of age, gender, or type of limb loss. We welcome individuals with congenital limb differences, amputations due to illness or injury, and those who have undergone elective amputations.
7:00 - Adrienne will join us to meet her 3-legged 9yr old mixed boxer named Fanny. She will introduce Fanny, by walking,/introducing her all of our members. Additionally, an informal presentation of the healing paws program through the Anderson humane society will be discussed.
7:30 - Bianca Diaz with the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) will join us and will share how accessible Metra, Pace and CTA buses and trains are easy to use. We welcome older adults and people with disabilities to join us to learn about accessible public transit options and traveling independently.
